"There is no such thing as a bad dog, only bad dog owners." |
Currently there are 78.4 million dogs in the United States and ownership falls into one of two categories: good dog owners and bad dog owners. Good dog owners care for their dogs properly with adequate food, exercise, entertainment, shelter, training, and companionship. They recognize a dog as a social animal, high maintenance, and in need of constant attention and care. They know allowing a dog to become a nuisance or threat to others can be detrimental to the dog's well-being as well as create an environment of hostility damaging human-animal relations on a much larger scale. They understand their responsibility as a dog owner. Bad, irresponsible dog owners allow their dogs to bark, whine, roam free, vandalize, defecate, bite, attack and murder. They are too ignorant or self-centered to understand the needs of a dog or to care whether they are disrupting the lives of others around them. To them, dogs are only accessories to their lives used to build their own self-esteem or purposely used as weapons of aggression. Their abuse creates a multitude of societal problems taxing the surrounding environment, animal control departments, law enforcement and court systems. These types of owners give all dog owners and their pets a bad name. Purpose of this website: ...to support victims of dog assault and dog owner harassment ...to promote better owner control practices through activism ...to eradicate the problems of bad, irresponsible dog ownership. Hounds of Hell The hounds of hell, or hellhounds, are traditionally demonic dogs often described as having supernatural abilities and given glorified missions such as guarding the gates of Hades or capturing lost souls. We at DOGASSAULT.com recognize any dog, no matter what size, no matter what breed, can be your own personal hound of hell. The romantic notion that they can be useful for anything while they are demonic is purely a mythological fantasy, therefore, our new, modern definition for hound of hell is: "Any dog that is allowed to terrorize or abuse a human or animal victim with noise, smell or physical assault." It is the demonic human who has created hounds of hell. Dogs are not to blame for their owner's bad behaviors. We are not dog-haters or animal-haters of any kind. Most of us own dogs or have had dogs in the past. This is not a matter of loving or hating any animal, but of expecting society to protect citizens from the abuses of improper ownership behaviors and practices. Dog assault is not only an animal rights issue, but a human rights issue as well. |
