Murdering Dogs
Famous last words:

"...the dog had always appeared docile and friendly."

"...the dog had never acted aggressively."

"...the dog had never been vicious before."

"...we had no reason to believe the dog was dangerous."

"...we did not know the dog could harm the baby."

"...shocked by the attack because he was a very friendly dog"
In January 2001, Diane Wipple was savagely murdered by two dogs in the hallway
at her apartment door. The dog owners' defense was it was the victim's fault for
wearing perfume. These dogs were well-known for their aggression in the
community prior to the murder.

In April 1997, Christopher Wilson was murdered by three dogs as he and his
brother waited for their school bus. As the school bus arrived on scene, the other
children witnessed the dogs playing tug-of-war with the child's body. These dogs
were not only known aggressors, but had been trained in "Schutzhund," a German
dog training sport which includes teaching dogs how to bite.

Lillian Stiles, Cash Carson, Rodney McAllister, Kristin Jolley, Alicia Clark, Jennifer
Brooke, Alice Broom, Dorothy Sullivan, Zach Taylor, Jose Diaz, Shawna Willey,
Connor Lourens, Ishmael Gonzalez, Nicholas Faibish, Dusty Patterson,Tyra
Kuehne, Archie-Lee Hirst, Ellie Lawrenson, Justin Mozer, Andrew Stein, Kelly
Caldwell, Kylie Cox...this is just a fraction of the people who have lost their lives to
murdering dogs.

Many of these victims are children or elderly. Most were killed in their own homes,
close to their own homes or in their own neighborhoods. Many of the murdering
dogs had prior history of nuisance or aggression although many were not reported
because neighbors didn't want to get involved. (Dog assault on any level is very
intimidating.) Others had no history of violence which speaks to the unpredictability
of dogs. Some of the bad dog owners were not convicted of any wrong due to
various legislative loopholes and none of the bad dog owner-parents were charged
with child neglect. The attorneys for the dog owners in the murder of four-month old
Kylie Cox claimed no one was a fault as if it was some natural disaster we should all
accept and ignore.

The average human life taken due to murdering dogs is 26 people per year, doubled
in the last few years and currently on the rise. Although statistics indicate specific
breeds are more prone to aggression (pitbulls, rottweilers and Presa Canarios
contribute to 65% of deaths), any breed has the potential to bite or kill. Male dogs
are responsible for 70-87% of attacks. The pets and farm animals murdered by
dogs are too numerous to list.

How many more people and animals have to die before we recognize as a society
that these "pets" and their owners need to be properly managed, controlled, and the
law should be protecting citizens? Dog aggression is unacceptable, but doesn't seem
to be taken seriously. We as a society have been conditioned through our
overwhelming dependence on media and false advertising that all dogs are cute and
cuddly and everyone should own one regardless of capability. Lassie and Rin Tin
Tin were highly-trained television stars playing fictional characters capable of
miracle rescues. Stop the fantasy.
What YOU can do:
1) Report dogs displaying aggressive behaviors.
2) Lobby for stronger nuisance laws as these are indicators of bad pet owner and
future problems.
3) Lobby for better animal control practices.
4) Lobby for stronger aggressive animal law consequences including mandatory
euthanization and owner convictions.
5) Expect accountibility and work toward an improved justice system.
6) Buy a gun and carry it with you at all times.
